The date is set for The Lions Foundation of Canada's Fall Open House. Saturday, October 13th, everyone's invited to tour their National Training facility located at 152 Wilson Street in Oakville, Ontario. That's where you'll meet many incredible canines (and their humans of course) both trainers and volunteers who are dilligently preparing them to work as: Canine Vision for people who are blind or visually impaired. Hearing for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Autism Assistance for children who have autism spectrum disorder. Service for people who have a physical disability. Seizure Response for people who have epilepsy. Diabetic Alert for people who have type 1 diabetes with hypoglycemic unawareness And now Support Dogs for use by professional agencies with individuals in traumatic situations. Bid on fabulous silent auction items, enjoy live demonstrations and talk with volunteers taking part in their ongoing foster puppy program. While admission to this day-long family-friendly event is FREE, The Foundation will be accepting donations. For directions or more info, click on the Google Map or call toll free: 1 (800) 768-3030 |
