Re:
Dog Owner’s Liability Act
(DOGA)
Date of implementation: October
28, 2005
We
provide the following information
to owner’s who are considering
using our boarding and/or training
services.
The
ban pertains to dogs that would
be identified in the following
category, and or an offshoot as
a result of crossbreeding:
• Pit Bull Terrier
• Staffordshire Terrier
• American Staffordshire
Terrier
• American Pit Bull Terrier
Under
legislation, these dogs must be
leashed and muzzled anytime they
leave an owner’s property.
Leash length is restricted to
4.5 feet. The recommended muzzle
is of wire construction, design
will be “humane, strong
enough and well fitted enough
to prevent the dog from biting
without interfering with the breathing,
panting or vision of the dog or
it’s ability to drink.”
These dogs must be spayed or neutered
before 36 weeks of age, unless
a veterinarian has deemed that
the dog is too old or sick to
undergo the surgery.

pit bull legislation can be accessed
